Really fun and cute read.

I am, however, beginning to notice that David Yoon just might not be the writer for me. I enjoy his books, but there are some problems, too.

The romance for me fell a little flat. I've watched plenty of Hallmark movies to be familiar with the "pretending you're someone else" bit, but it didn't really work for me here that well. In general, I am not a fan of insta-love, so the spark Sunny and Cirrus supposedly had from the very beginning just wasn't really there for me.

More often than not the parts that were meant to be funny were more on the cringy side. Which, I get, I guess. Romances based on lies aren't exactly what you want. And the nerdy aspects, while refreshing, were at times just a little over the top.

Overall, I enjoyed this book on a surface level. It did what it was supposed to do. But if you look deeper, as I often do, I just didn't connect with the characters very much, which made the cringy story hard to enjoy some of the time.
