I wasn't sure what to expect when starting out with this First Impression. I'll say up-front that I'm not a frequent poetry reader, but I was interested to know what these would read like. I found that occasionally, there were little gems of thoughts here, written in a beautiful or thought-provoking way. Frequently, though, the poems struck me as a high school rough draft attempt at being introspective and moody. I liked the idea, but I think the execution falls flat.
