I am not typically a poetry person - I can appreciate the work that goes into writing poetry and the thoughtful presentation of the words on the pages - but as a genre, it is not one that I tend to really get into. Now, I am not saying that this sneak peek changed my life or anything like that, but reading the poems in the order they are carefully curated on the page is thought-provoking. This isn't the poetry that I grew up studying in school that I found to be daunting, overwhelming, and noted themes I thought were a bit of a stretch. This book is more relatable, it is more accessible and yet still gives you the freedom to interpret as you will.
