Izzy Morales, her best friend Kassidy, and five other friends are set to spend a week at Ashwood Manor, living as its original inhabitants would have in the 1920s. It's supposed to be a fun way to celebrate having graduated from high school. Then Kassidy's boyfriend is found murdered, and an interrogation begins. i'm a fan of murder mysteries, so i was excited to see i'd won an arc of this - it reminded me a lot of Karen M. McManus's books. at first i wondered if this was actually a mystery (there were so many signs immediately pointing to Izzy) but this story has multiple layers and i promise it's worth a read!
i loved seeing the various Mexican American experiences included (not just Izzy's) and that each character had a distinct personality. personally the characters felt a lot like stereotypical teens with lots of tension and drama between them, but this bothered me less in the second half of the book
