This YA book is a bit different from most of the ones I've read recently. That is a good thing. I would hate to think YA stories should be only either new romance, getting through high school, or some variation of paranormal adventure. This one is a murder mystery.
We have a loose friend group centered on Kassidy. For their senior graduation party, Kassidy has arranged a week in a 1920's mansion complete with 1920 clothes and cocktails and events. What she didn't plan was someone killing her boyfriend. it's just like the 1920's murder mystery movies that she and her best friend Izzy love to watch.
Everybody at the party week had a motive to kill Blaine. The police come to investigate. An unexpected storm keeps everyone, police, staff, and party guests, stuck on the estate. in the end, five high school graduates leave the estate, changed, to go off to college. But, you say, which five. to know that, you will have to read the book. I think you will enjoy doing that as much as I did.
I won my copy of this book from the publisher through a website contest. I review all the books I read.
