I'm going to start with the positives. Hats off to this author for writing this book! I love a locked room mystery (they're my favorite trope in the mystery genre) and for setting it in teen/YA fiction. I want there to be more of these! The beginning few chapters was very gripping! But here come the negatives. I got really bored really quickly. With how the blurb was written and how the characters were introduced I knew how the kids all fit together. I think I was able to put it together because I read so many of these books, so for someone else this might not have been a problem! I was also not a fan of the many perspectives and always jumping between them. Honestly I just wanted Izzy and the murderer occasionally. The detectives weren't my favorite. But the ending third was really out there! The red herring got me and the reveal of the murderer did shock me! No spoilers, I just wish the middle had been shorter or more action was happening. All in all it was okay. It wasn't for me but it could be for someone else!
