I was intrigued with the premise of this book and you do get gripped from page one. The plot, word building and pace were amazing.
The author did a great job of adding the right amount of details without being wordy.
The character development was lack luster and the back and forth in time lines were a little disjointed. The events leading up to the reveal of the murderer and how the murderer was handled came off unrealistic. It feels like the author was trying add things just for the shock value but it did nothing for the story.
The book kept you engaged but there felt like something was missing. This book was compared to Knives Out but it didn't have the same feel as the movie did. You could see some of how the movie could be used for a comparison but that was the extent of it.
Overall, I did enjoy the book but not a favorite.

Thank you to Bookish First for a copy of this book. The review is entirely my own.
