I LOVE this trope, so I had such high hopes for this book… and they were exceeded. The characterization was done so well, I could see the characters in my head as the story progressed and forgot I wasn’t watching it on TV. At one point I genuinely tried to find it on my “recently watched” lists. I had so much fun guessing who did what, when, and how. I also LOVED the how there were twists that I saw coming but those twists hid twists I didn’t see coming. It felt like the right balance of predictable and out of the box thinking.
The characters were written well and the backstories were added in so cleverly, as well as the different characters reasoning for doing whatever it was that they did. I would love to listen to this book in an audiobook format. I think it would work so well with a full cast recording. This was fun to read in the summer, but I can also see it as a fun early-fall read!
