A Fun Mystery

Overall, I thought this would be a fun mystery.

I've been trying to read more YA mystery novels, and this one, set at a 1920s murder mystery party, sounded like it would be a lot of fun.

Ultimately, it was a lot of fun. While it wasn't what I expecting, I was a fairly enjoyable read. The beginning a bit confusing for me at first, as the characters seemed too similar for me to keep track or who is who. But eventually I was able to work that out.

I did not like the pacing and structure of this book. I love a good multiple POV story; but this one alternated between first person present tense and their person past tense, which just came off odd to me. I know the past tense was saved for the flashbacks, but it still came off as confusing to me, and I wish the author had just stuck to one tense.

The ending was a bit too convenient for my liking. I understand wanting to have everything wrap up, but I thought it all wrapped up a little too nicely for my tastes.
