I loved this book so much. Joan He's writing is some of my favorite to read. She always creates fantastic worlds and characters you grow attached to and characters you love! I loved the stakes and the twists! So many unexpected twists occurred in this book. By the end I didn't want it to end. The setting felt lived in and like you were there from the way it was described. It was a world you don't want to leave, where you want to continue on with the characters and see what else will happen. I am so excited for the rest of this series. If you like fantasy and retellings this is right up your alley! I can't wait to see more of Zither and Crow in the future and what happens with Ren. I didn't expect to be so involved and attached to this world and book, but that's always the best feeling when it's unexpected and you leave the book hopeful for the rest of the series!
