Betrayal and plot twists galore!
Holy crap, this book was absolutely filled with plot twists and jaw dropping moments. From beginning to end - this book keeps you on edge, just waiting for the other shoe to drop and when it does, you are compelled to hurry ahead for more. I am not the target audience for this young adult fantasy but I had a great time reading it. The striking cover is really what drew me in, because in all honesty I have no idea what The Three Kingdoms is all about but that wasn't necessary for the enjoyment of Zephyr's story. There were definitely times that I felt 'out of the loop' and I had to backtrack a little to figure out where I got lost, but the complexity of some plot points really enhanced the story- no lazy reading with this one. There is a lot of characters too, many are background characters, if you will, but I was drawn in by each of their stories, there was no boring times or times where I didn't care. Each character, big or small, really played an important part
