This excerpt shows the book getting off to quite the start! Quite a bit happened in this first chapter, and I'm not sure I have a good grasp on it all. There seems to be a lot of background that happens before we're introduced, and I think I would need more time with the book to fully understand, but it definitely seems like a good book so far. Full of scheming and betrayals, I'm interested in reading on!
