First, the cover of the book, as previously stated in my first impression review the art work and color palette draw a reader in. Although we were raised not to judge a book by a cover, it is an unconscious reaction.
As you read the book, chapter by chapter, lesson by lesson, advice by advice you find yourself relating to the topic. Whether you have experienced the situation first hand or you can imagine yourself within that position; the next time it happens the author's words stick out in your mind. As the words pop out in your mind it cause you to pause and think about the situation before you react.
I highly recommend reading this book, even if you believe you do not need a self-help book.
