I have been a student of Positive Psychology for several years, and so when I read the author sat in some of those same courses and listened to some of the same lectures by Angela Duckworth, I was very excited to read what this book has to offer. The movement towards positive psychology is so unspeakably important in today's world. Contrary to what some believe, it's not a movement towards being happy all the time, or always saying "Yes" to things. Rather, it is a focus on what nourishes us mentally, emotionally, even spiritually (not religiously). Whereas psychology has long focused on how to address and treat the negative (things we don't want to have in our lives), positive psychology looks to increase the opportunity and ability to thrive. "Stop Missing Your Life" looks like it will be leading the reader through the first few steps of engaging in a positive psychology method. I deeply appreciate that the author addresses how real people have often suffered traumas in their lives, and that there is very real risk and fear involved in being our true selves where others can see us.

I'm very excited about this book and look forward to reading the rest!
