Too much about the author

I often struggle to read self-help books because the author tends to talk so much about their own journey. Generally, that journey seems to be offered as a way to show the reader the struggles the author has experienced to give them authenticity and credibility for giving advice, or to show the benefits of following the advice they're giving. In this book, the entire First Impression is pretty much focused on the author. Then, in the last two or three pages, he slapped down a few comments about what the book would be about and expected that I would be ready to go on a journey with him. I'll pass.
