I think the cover is solid. I tried meditation for a couple weeks. I was using headspace as a kind of "walk through" and ended up getting jolted awake at the end of it instead of gently being more relaxed. As far as just closing my eyes and meditating, my mind is on way to many topics to even try. I think a book about separating meditation from eastern religion makes it much more appealing to the average person. There may be some practices of value that I have overlooked. From the part I read, it seems you kept an open mind and have seen significant improvement from doing so. It is well written and not pretentious so that's certainly a good start. I am curious to hear more.
