Thank you to the author for the lovely signed ARC, bookmark and teabag...such a nice surprise!

I found this to be an uplifting story of one woman's faith in herself. Julie leads a fairy-tale life as the story begins, with her prince in shining armor, castle and fantastic sex life. She even has her own very successful bakery, complete with loyal friend and gifted coworkers. Her handsome husband Dan is every woman's dream, yet there is nagging suspicion that outward appearances are not what they seem.

I found the plot somewhat unbelievable. However, seeing things outside our own experiences is a gift and reason to keep an open mind. Julie has suspected Dan's infidelity for years yet has never confronted him. Is she afraid to see the cracks in her perfect marriage? When a note found on his desk becomes the final straw, Julie finally has had enough and shuts down, abruptly leaving everything behind to begin a new life. Julie asks God for strength and through her faith, as well as having the resources to do so, is able to carry on. Why does Dan wait so long to connect again with Julie? I often felt frustrated reading this story. But through it all, Julie's faith and love for her man stays strong, despite a new relationship. I enjoyed the strength of the female characters.

All in all, an uplifting story, but may not appeal to everyone, partly due to the religious aspect. However, I can see this book as an interesting selection for lively book club discussion. I found the short chapters and writing style to be a bit choppy and confusing but this is a debut, and I look forward to more from this author.
