Too much of the main character's thoughts droning ON and ON

This seems to be an introspective kind of book, but it was hard to muddle through the first couple of chapters. Every sentence is flooded with I, me, my.... it's not engaging at all. I thought it might be a Christian fiction read, but some of the content was not appropriate for sensitive Christian readers.
