I almost gave this 4 stars, because the ending wasn't an ending, but....it deserves 5 stars! I loved it from page 1. The characters were all witty and smart and talented in different ways, they kept me on my toes.
It did start a bit slow in the sense that she spent quite a few explaining the organization and the characters back stories and such, but that helped set the scene. Then things got real halfway through when a murder happened and the action started!
Marie Lu writes such intense action scenes! Really came alive and had me on the edge of my seat, wondering how Winter and Sydney would make it.
Even the side characters were great! I especially loved Sydney's mentors and Winters two dancer friends. They added some comic relief and fun dialogue. I was also surprised by a turn of events when it came to the villain!
I love when a book surprises me! So while I didnt get my "HEA" when it came to Winter and Sydney, I know more books are coming so....I'm excited! Such a good book! Can't wait for more!
