Stars and Smoke by Marie Lu grabbed my attention with the first word and did not let go! The main character, Winter Young, immediately won my heart with his sarcasm and talent. The book starts off quickly, without much preamble, and launches you right into the story. Marie Lu's descriptive and beautiful prose brings the book to life. I can't wait to read the rest!
