I read this author's epic Legend series so this new take on an assassin YA fantasy was exciting. I did like the world-building and found Sydney to be a really strong 3-dimensional character. I struggled more with Winter. He felt more like a caricature of what a teenage heartthrob is than a fully-fledged character. I'd be interested to read more and see where this goes.
