This is a cute book about growing up plus sized and all the challenges we put ourselves in and grow up in. As a fat kid ( I use that word with no ill intentions) I faced a lot of hardships that I felt no one else would understand. I really love this book and love that it's available for girls growing up nowadays. There is no shame in your body or how you look. There is no shame in being different and being a starfish. This is one of my favorite books even though I'm an old lady and I've already gifted a few copies out to my relatives with plus sized kids. My niece, who swears she would never wear short sleeves and hides herself in oversized clothing in order to hide and blend in to the background asked me if we could go shopping for clothes after reading this book. Which honestly might not be a big deal for some of you but it brought tears to my eyes because she's slowly getting out of her shell. Thank you to this book.
