It’s about a girl named Ellie and it deals with some serious stuff. People always made fun of her weight ever since she was in the fifth grade and she struggled with it. I really thing this is a great book for middle grades and up to read because it deals with body positivity and many girls struggle with that. The reason it’s called starfish is because she is a plus size girl and she is so self conscious she is to afraid to even wear a swimsuit around People. But she ends up loving her body and just the way she is because nobody can judge you unless you do. And I think this book can teach many people things in life. Nowadays it’s all about body positivity and many people are making a change so since there is body positivity going on right now because many people are struggling with it I think this will be a good book because it teaches a valuable lesson.
