I connected with this book on a very personal level. I didn’t realize I was living by “fat girl rules” until I read the first look of Starfish. This book explores the the many facets of being over weight, everything from stereotypes about being fat, pressure from family to lose weight and being judge solely based on your appearance. I can’t wait to read more of this story and see our leading lady learn to live herself...just the way she is. Self love and acceptance are so important. Being fat does not mean a person is lazy, ugly, or lacking self control. I feel connected to this subject on a soul deep level. I think a lot of women will enjoy and connect with this book. All women feel self conscious at times. We need to empower each other and be supportive. I can’t wait to see all the obstacles and truths this books uncovers. I am sure it will open many eyes and start positive dialogue.
