STARFISH
This book was chosen for Goodreads, based on grade level for my local library and, it was recommended for readers grade 6 and I would say I definitely agree with that recommendation.
Starfish is most definitely a book that is a good choice for children who are struggling with bullying or are having a hard time with body positivity, to read. It dives into the struggles that children deal with throughout middle school due to the cruelty of jealous children.
The cover of this book is adorable. I love the water in the background as well as the detail in the waves that depict that it's supposed to be in a pool. The idea that our main character Ellie is shaped out like a starfish is adorable, tying together the book's title and how it relates to our main character, Ellie.
Lastly, the friendship with the girls that Ellie meets that helps her with her confidence is definitely adorable as well.
