I knew what I was getting into when I got this book, but I had clearly underestimated how good it would truly be. As an overweight poet myself, this book was extremely real. The emotions she described and the way they were dealt with were realistic, as were the struggles to deal with them in the correct manner.

Lisa Fipps is an amazing poet, surely among the best I have read, and is truly a master of the "show, don't tell" technique. I could feel every emotion Ellie went through, from the unbridled joy to the shame and guilt.

The plot was fantastic, but what really made the story were the characters, who also seemed like real people. Viv's understanding and Catalina's simple caring devotion to being Ellie's friend were so powerful and proved that you only need a few close friends to be happy. And Enemy Number 3, though never truly named, was a very deep character and I'm sure we've all met someone like him.

I truly cannot find a single complaint about this book. Amazing job, Lisa Fipps.
