Starfish is on track to have a very powerful and important message that I wish I'd had earlier in life and one that I still appreciate reading as an adult. El's story is one that I am incredibly familiar with, and the way she describes things like "fatdar" are relatable and accurate in ways that make me feel seen. Even El's love for floating in the water is something that we have in common. I think this book has the potential to help a lot of young girls, and older ones alike. The writing is appropriate for a middle-grade book, but still strikes a welcome cord with an older audience. I think the cover is awesome, and I would love to read more to find out how El learns to love the body she's in! I think this will be a great read!
