I enjoy the use of poetry. Ellie is a chubby kid and I was also one of those kids, so I completely understand the way she feels. I really enjoyed the lines in Super Sleuth "Every kids needs one place they can escape to when life gets to be too much. The pool in my place." I also loved the pool as a kid. You are weightless and kind of just exist floating in the pool. It's very satisfying. I also love the comparison with her dog being able to be round and content, yet she's not supposed to be with her own round body.
