I find it so sad that even today a book for middle grade students pertaining fat shaming, and being comfortable with oneself is needed. I feel other kids can be so cruel. Even adults to children as well. I have struggled with weight my whole life, and as a male I was bullied, teased, and ridiculed. However, I will be the first to admit I have seen females treated far worse. Although this book shows hope and positivity it still hurts to think of kids being ridiculed for their weight. Or any human for that matter. It’s awful.
