I am so excited for this! I love that we already saw a supportive parent and potential friend, and I totally feel her on her mom. I wasn’t fat as a kid, though I am as an adult, but my mom didn’t approve of my body type and shopping was different for my sister than for me - and she definitely doesn’t approve of my body now. I hope she can open up to her counselor, because while it feels like betrayal by her parents, I bet it could be wonderfully helpful. Can’t wait to pick this up, and probably the audio - I love to hear poetry out loud.
