In a body shaming world this book will be a haven for preteen girls who haven't yet found self esteem and self confidence. I was bullied myself in elementary school, and in my little mind the only way to acceptance was not eating and growing smaller . I like the message from the Dad that she was beautiful the way she was, and he found a clothing store that had pretty things just for her. This book could be wonderful for middle school classes in teaching poetry can be about any subject, as a published poet I would be guests in the middle school English classes encouraging poetry writing competitions. This book would have been fabulous for that. I feel the author should take these poems and write a novel, her story telling ability is well crafted, and even could be adapted to a screenplay. I give it a four only because the poems string together like a novel, and feel like short choppy sentences instead of a poetry flow.
