Star Splitter. What a great adventure! I don't normally go for space stories, but I read a little blurb that had me hooked. I'm not a Star Wars fan, my camp was the older Star Trek shows. Silly, I know.
This story start out with Jessica's parents wanting her to leave earth and join them on a uninhabited planet. Which turns out not necessarily true.
People being 'printed' to travel in space and explore was a fascinating concept. The author, Matthew J Kirby, did a great job of making sure we knew what character was who. Being the story revolves around one character being 'printed' twice. Now there is a quandary of who is the 'real' Jessica. The Psychology of unconscious and conscious is lightly explored. Are the boundaries crossed between natural and the 'printed' unnatural? Fun to think about.
There are very exciting moments on the planet and on the spaceship. Descriptions are great the writing is easy to read. I highly recommend this book.
PS: This book is going on the Keeper-Shelf. It would make a great movie!
