Jessica Mathers didn’t want to leave her friends on Earth and explore deep space, but her scientist parents decided her fate. Now that she’s woken up alone in a bloody, empty crashed lander on Carver 1061c—not in the ship orbiting above with her parents and crew as planned—Jessica must discover what went horribly wrong…

Told through two POVs on two different timelines, this tense story thoroughly hooked me. The different perspectives on this method of space travel—and what defines consciousness, soul, and body—were interesting and thought-provoking. Their time in the ship and on planet was ominous, eerie, and emotional. Right and wrong blurred in understandable ways, making me sympathize with all the characters.

I enjoyed this tense, mysterious, space adventure.
