The cover of the book is what really drew me in. Typically I am not the type of person to read science fiction, but I decided to give this book a shot. I think that I may have a bit of bias against the genre, and that is why it took me so long to get through the book, but once I read it, I can say that it is a great book.

I was not expecting such a grueling mystery, but it kept me on the edge of my seat and made me stay up all night to see how it ends.

Typically books with dual pov or dual timelines are not ones I reach for because one pov is more interesting than the other. However, in this case, the point of views build upon one another, adding to that grueling suspense.

If writing a dual timeline mystery isn’t hard enough, Kirby manages to ensure he did not forget to beautifully develop our main character.

While this isn’t a book that I would pick up again, I will be putting it in my classroom for my students to check out. This book deserves to be read by people who will treasure the story.
