Star Splitter has everything that i love: Sci fi space setting, back and forth perspective and timeline that eventually meet in the middle at the end of the book to wrap it all up, and ancient civilizations. It’s got it all. I also thought the entire storyline that covered how future humans can travel interstellar to places many many light years away was very interesting. The ethical concepts involved would be complicated and something future humans may have to sift through and this book does a good job of bringing to light how and why severing and establishing consciousness in a person would be tough.

I thought the novel could have done a better job of wrapping up the all the details at the end and explaining all of the science a bit more. I also just wasn’t a big fan of how one of the characters ended up, and the extreme transformation that took place. It didn’t feel necessary and more like shock value.

Overall an interesting book that kept my attention.
