What would it be like in a world where each time you teleported, your body was scanned (and destroyed in the process) and then reprinted in your new location, a perfect copy of you, but totally new? Redundancy is not allowed, but what if something goes wrong, and suddenly there are two of you? All memories shared with the exception of the past 9 days? This is the situation in which Jessica, 17, finds herself while traveling in deep space to reunite with parents she hasn't seen in 6 years. Chapters alternate between before and after the crisis occurs. There is a lot to think about in this book. What makes us who we are? Is a clone truly identical to the being it copies?

The book is exciting and interesting to read. And while it is classified as YA, adult readers will also enjoy it. I don't know if a sequel is planned, but I hope so. I would love to travel back to Carver 1061c to learn more about the worlds revealed and also how Jessica fares after the adventures of this book.
