I really enjoyed the first part of this book. It was enough about space and exploration that it would satisfy the sci-fi nerd, but still had enough YA elements to make it appealing to most readers. I really enjoyed the first parts of this.
Where it took a little bit of a turn for me was toward the end. I felt like some of the dialogue and actions of the characters were confusing, and definitely not what most people would have done when faced with a similar situation. There was also ethical dilemmas brought up that may turn some readers off, and while it was partially addressed in the book, it may not have been addressed to the masses.
I do think readers will enjoy most aspects of Star Splitter, but thus one might not have been for me. While I was able to finish it I don't know if I'll recommend it.
