I really enjoyed the concept of this book. The idea of establishing a colony on and studying a different planet is interesting. I enjoyed the concept behind transporting people to a different planet by scanning and saving people's data, destroying the original body and then printing a new body in a different location. I also enjoyed the imagery of the new planet and the exploration of the "alien" colony. I appreciate that the author included an animal friend on the new planet. The conflict between the two Jessica's introduces an interesting concept. Are they the same person or are they different? This really got me thinking and I enjoy when books give me pause and make me think about something beyond the "normal" concepts. The only reason I did not give this book four stars was because I feel like the ending was rushed and abrupt. I didn't really get closure. I would like to know a little more about what happens in the after as well. Are Jessica and Duncan friends after all of this? What did the videos that Jessica sent back say?
