I tend to think that deep space and sci-fi are not my thing, yet here I am completely wonderstruck by this First Look and astonished by how much I truly feel invested in the story. The unique and imaginative story seems so realistic and relatable while also so foreign. There’s a promise of more than space exploration and survival, by suggesting a psychological component of quantum physics and how we exist and perceive ourselves in time and space. Although it’s a YA book with the usual bitter and defensive teenager trope, it’s not heavy handed or in-your-face like so many other YA books. I’m curious to see where this story goes and how the author will weave in a strange, new world while telling a story of both physical and self-discovery (I assume).
