The cover really didn't catch my eye. It seemed a bit generic scifi. The synopsis made me question why a 17 year old would be the star of a scifi novel that's set on a desolate planet. But then I read the excerpt and wow! I was immediately drawn into the story. It's more complex than I had originally thought and I need to read more to find out what happens to Jessica. And so I went ahead and pre-ordered it!
