Although Science Fiction is my preferred genre, I have read some very good ones. My favorite is Project: Hail Mary with The Martian a close second. This story is just so confusing, and I found myself skipping paragraphs yet still getting the concept. I had to read, and then re-read to understand what was happening. It may have some potential, yet I found my mind wandering and not paying close attention. Maybe if I was closer to a YA reader in age, I would like this book better but I don't think so...it takes a lot of work to get to the point. I do think there may be readers who would appreciate this work; it's just not one that I would like to continue.
