Spin of Fate by A. A. Vora is a unique and beautifully written fantasy that pulls from both Indian and Japanese mythology, but truly is a story of it’s own. The characters are well-written and I liked all three of the main protagonists.

The story opens with a lot of world building and this continues throughout the entire book. At the beginning, I did struggle a bit to understand exactly what was going on because there was so much. I did discover a glossary at the end which proved helpful when it came to some of the terms.

The characters of Aina, Meizen, and Aranel were likable and I really was rooting for them throughout the story. They are all so different, but they were characterized so well and I felt like I was really able to feel for them. Aina is a strong female character and I really enjoyed the parts of the story from her point of view. All three characters had good character arcs and I am excited to see where this series takes these characters.

Overall, I gave this book 3/5 stars because I struggled a bit to get into it and it starts off kind of slow. The writing was really beautiful and well done and the characters were great, but it did take me a bit to figure out what was going on and to really get into the story. I would recommend this book to any YA fantasy lovers. I cannot wait to see where this series goes and definitely am looking forward to the rest of them!
