I received an Advance Review Copy of this book, and I am really glad that I did because I was looking forward to reading it and would not have wanted to wait until the publication date! The thing that stood out to me the most about this book was the amazing, vivid, evocative world-building. There are so many books now that create fantasy worlds, it really takes something special to stand out among the others--and this one definitely has that "something". It's incredibly creative and detailed, with fantastic characters and creatures that are completely original and yet somehow the moment you read the description you can see them in your mind's eye. I really felt transported as I was reading this book, and again, considering how many fantasy books are out there now, that is really saying something. The characters are also really well developed, not just well described. I can't say enough about the beautiful writing in this book, you'll have to read it and see for yourself!
