I like the setup of this book, four realms where the weight of one's soul determines their placement. The fact that the placement is done by an invisible force is interesting. It makes it an uphill, faceless battle for Aina, who can't know exactly how her purposeful sins are counting toward her desire to sink back down to her mother.
