Imaginative and original magic system. A likeable, morally grey, strong female character with dark sense of humor. The characters are compelling, flawed, and three-dimensional. (After only a few chapters, too.) An unjust system I can’t wait to see our characters turn upside-down. Witty banter, snarky internal monologues, and great imagery set a unique tone. All in all, a great start. I can’t wait to read more!
