Vora's world-building is rich and immersive, from the map spread through the vivid depictions of both Malin and Mayana. The excerpt reminds me of Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, which I absolutely loved. I also love how philosophy, folktales, and myths from cultures around the world are inspiring fantastic new young adult fantasy novels!
