Ana has, through no fault of her own, been elevated to a higher, easier existence than her mother by virtue of toranic law, and will do anything to return. She commits minor crimes to try to force a return but is stopped each time. Getting caught by a guard she despises, with family issues of his own, seems to be the beginning of a relationship that will change them both.
