First off, I'm a sucker for ballet themed books. The cover of Sparrow definitely caught my attention and made me want to know more about this book. It's simplicity is on pointe. The story is quite different from most ballet books and definitely touches on darker, sensitive topics. I went back and forth with this book, do I love it, do I hate it, I can't put it down, I can't stay focused on the story. It won't be one for everyone but it's one that I did finish and I did like. Some might be triggered by parts of the story, it took me slightly by surprise with just how "dark" the story was at times. Definitely not quite what I was expecting but overall, I did end up finishing the book and I'm glad I did.
