This is a mystery thriller type book set in the 21st century. Sparrow has a very complex background. This author is amazing because she made me laugh out loud and cry along with Sparrow and her friends. What I love about this book is the depth of Sparrow and her friends. The switching from Lucas to Sparrow is hard to follow at first but then you notice that Sparrow tells us only somethings and Lucas fills in what Sparrow didn't tell us. I think that the author did a amazing job making Sparrow feel like she was my best friend and after the butal attack I felt like I needed to help her. Her mother played a big part of after the attack. Her Aunt and father doesn't want to talk about her abusive mother which makes the process harder. This was a AMAZINGLY GOOD read!
