This was an interesting read. I am familiar with similar books and felt this one didn't resonate as much. I had a hard time relating to Sparrow or even becoming emotionally connected. Her back story was good, but just not my general writing. Like my title said, I thought it was a good book just not great. I didn't regret spending time with the book, but won't end up on my read again list. I would say that this would be good if you want something to pass the time but do not want to get extremely overjoyed. It definitely is not a great pick me up kind of book. So if you have read "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson and want to read something comparable then maybe this is a good choice. The writing isn't as good, so it will motivate you to read it faster.
